Effective Branding: Starbucks Essay

When thinking about a brand that I am faithful to the primary brand that strikes a chord is Starbucks. The Starbucks association has worked superbly of marking itself as the debut espresso retailer around the world. The Starbucks logo is broadly perceived and is discernable even to non-espresso consumers. The organization has the benefit of directing premium costs for their items that shoppers are glad to pay on a day by day, or considerably progressively visit, premise. The capacity to charge these exceptional costs brought about 13.3 billion dollars in income in 2012 (The Wall Street Journal, 2013). Marking Customarily an effective promoting brand system includes customer training (Grewal and Levy, 2012, p. 303). Starbucks worked admirably of teaching Americans on the espresso culture and the contrast between the dribble espresso made in our kitchens and latte’s or Americanos. Starbucks utilized the consumer’s need to feel like an epicurean and acquainted them with various espresso items from around the world (Stealing Share, 2013). Starbucks likewise did a generally excellent activity of making the item entirely obvious. Starbucks accumulates springing up all over Seattle first; the remainder of the nation was not a long ways behind. At present the organization has 17,003 stores around the world, with 10,787 of those stores in the United States (Statistics Brain, 2013). You can't stroll down the road in a significant U.S. city without seeing a Starbucks store or an utilized Starbucks cup in a waste container. This brand acknowledgment happened rapidly and Starbucks didn’t have a mess of rivalry in these early days. The customer espresso experience that Starbucks made could in the long run lead to a requirement for an organization brand upgrade. Since espresso experts are currently entirely educated about espresso items they anticipate consistent development. Starbucks has extended their product offering to remember for home espresso blending items and stores situated in markets. This could prompt the shopper not esteeming the Starbucks â€Å"experience† and going to a lower cost contender (Stealing Share, 2013). Bundling The most important resource that Starbucks has that identifies with its bundling is the broadly perceived Starbucks logo. The logo has developed throughout the years, and was as of late changed in 2011 (Corporate Eye, 2011). The logo that was utilized preceding 2011 incorporated the words â€Å"Starbucks Coffee.† The upgrade expels the organization name, and noticeably includes the image that was in the focal point of the past logo. Starbucks comprehends that their logo and brand are presently unmistakable without the organization name like organizations like Nike and Apple. The Starbucks cup is unmistakable because of the Starbucks logo, however it likewise stands apart for different reasons. The organization was one of the first in the food and refreshment industry to utilize reused item in their bundling. This began with napkins and refreshment sleeves, and proceeded with the genuine cups that drinks were served in. Starbucks was one of the primary organizations to get FDA endorsement to serve drinks in reused paper (Food Production Daily, 2004). Correlation with Competitors While there various littler strength espresso retailers in the U.S., Starbucks’ most unmistakable contenders are Dunkin’ Donuts and McDonalds. These contenders began as eateries yet immediately saw the open doors that the claim to fame espresso business introduced. McDonalds is ostensibly the most perceived brand on the planet and has overall brand acknowledgment. The issue that McDonalds will have is teaching its clients to the way that they sell espresso. Likewise, McDonalds and Dunkin’ Donuts are both seen as financial plan neighborly organizations, and this could likewise be a side road to clients looking for claim to fame espresso. The Fall of the House of Usher Comparison to Mental and Physical Illness - Free Essay Example

The Fall of the House of Usher is a story about a sick man whose fears demonstrate themselves through his mystical, sentient family home. The story explores mental and physical illness and how it affects people closest to those who are sick. In The Fall of the House of Usher, the narrator tells a story where he visits an old childhood friend who is suffering from a severe mental illness. Automatically, there is a sense of melancholy and misery in the narrators description of the house. The story begins on a soundless day in autumn; the setting is described 457as a discouraging, dark, and a vacant home which floods the narrator with an unsettling feeling of utter depression and unredeemed dreariness. The house has more power over the narrator than it should which allows the reader to question the narrators mental health, one can argue the narrator is insane. The narrator feels as though everything surrounding the house is mysterious and enigmatic, which brings upon an evil power destructive to human beings (Weisheng 289). Setting is used to convey messages, ideas, and images; Edgar Allan Poe can communicate truth about the characters mental health through the setting. Poes goal was to create a gloomy mood for the story which brought upon supernatural spook. The home had been engulfed by a fungus and had an atmosphere which had smelled of decayed trees; the decay surrounding the home has infected the air, which may have caused illness to those living in the home. With dark and uninviting walls; the home suffered from crumbling conditions. The eye of a scrutinizing observer might have discovered a barely perceptible fissure, which, extending from the roof of the building in front, made its way down the wall in a zigzag direction, until it became lost in the sullen waters of the tarn (Poe 3). This is the narrator describing the exterior of the Usher home, focusing on the flaws; a debilitated condition of an old mansion. The mental illnesses Roderick is suffering from such as anxiety and depression, directly describes the characteristics of the House of Usher; dull, sluggish crumbling and debilitating. The fissure in the wall of the home is equivalen t to the fissure in Rodericks mind. Every state of mind and body demonstrates itself as a characteristic of the homes exterior. The house is neglected, similar to the health of Roderick and his sister Madeline. The house itself becomes the figurative example of the characters; the house is a projection of the characters distressed personalities. As the mind and body of Roderick and Madeline starts to deteriorate, the Usher home begins to decay. The Fall of the House of Usher has many themes, one of them being insanity. Each character seems to be engulfed in their own state of mind, creating illusions and turning them into reality. The home seems to play with the characters minds, but Madeline and Roderick trap themselves in the house filled with their own fear. The narrator acknowledges that simple, natural objects can have complete power over us, Roderick has been dominated by all things in his home. He is in a constant battle with these things and his mind; in this battle he is a loser (Weisheng 291) Roderick is enchanted and terrified by the inscrutable things around him, he suffers from despair, and mental breakdowns, showing little signs of agency (Weisheng 299) Unpleasant ideas and obsessive thoughts can control our minds and are difficult to get rid of. Involuntary images and visual memories are prominent in many types of psychopathology. Patients with posttraumatic stress disorder, other anxiety disorders, depression, and psychosis frequently report repeated visual intrusions corresponding to a small number of real or imaginary events, usually extremely vivid, detailed, and with highly distressing content. (Brewin, et al 210) This is similar to someone who is fighting depression, they are unable to look past the distorted images of life that their sickness gives them. When suffering from a mental illness, trying to see life in a brighter and more positive perspective can sometimes be an impossible task. Roderick has fallen into a severe mental depression. He suffers from various nervous disorders; he is a hypochondriac and hypersensitive to most stimuli. Roderick is mentally disturbed by something and becomes agitated and restless (Weisheng 293) Usher describes his illness as a family evil, he believes his depression has been transferred through generations of bad genetics. Rodericks hypochondria and mental instability lead him to believe he is physically ill without any medical diagnoses from a doctor. Madelines sickness is also compared to utter depression, she suffers from apathy; gradually wasting away and becomes bed ridden until her imaginary death. Isolation also plays a great role in this short story; isolation is a symptom of depression and anxiety. Roderick and his sister Madeline self-isolate and are completely removed from normality. The extreme separation brings the family members closer together, to a supernatural point that is incomprehensible to any outsider. The twins feed off one another, creating nothing but negative energy in the home which causes them to be physically and mentally ill. I had learned, too, the very remarkable fact, that the stem of the Usher race, all time-honored as it was, had put forth, at no period, any enduring branch; in other words, that the entire family lay in the direct line of descent, and had always, with very trifling and very temporary variation, so lain (Poe 2). Roderick and Madeline are the last of the Usher family. They both are suffering from odd illnesses which could be a direct cause of the intermarriage in the family; a possible genetic cause of their illness. Rodericks mental problems come from his family history, it is believed that he is haunted by memories of a remote and repressed past, he now suffers from a traumatic mind because of his unresolved past (Weisheng 293). The twins relationship is mysterious, bizarre and almost incestuous; the bond that they share as brother and sister is powerful. It is believed that twins are one person split into two, unable to survive without one another; their bond exceeds even death. Without Madeline, Rodericks physical and mental condition begin to deteriorate even more, he suffers from a severe distress of the soul. Poe describes windows as being long, narrow, and pointed, and at so vast a distance from the black oaken floor as to be altogether inaccessible from within (3). The house held a sense of imprisonment and confinement as described in this quote, windows were out of reach; escaping the home was almost impossible. The narrators role as an outsider was very evident, it was clear that he did not belong in this home. Madeline and Roderick wished to remain entirely secluded from the exterior world. Poe describes the siblings as, A striking similitude between the brother and sister now first arrested my attention; and Usher, divining, perhaps, my thoughts, murmured out some few words from which I learned that the deceased and himself had been twins, and that sympathies of a scarcely intelligible nature had always existed between them (8). While the siblings are hereditarily close as twins, they are closer than most fraternal twins because the entire Usher race has become inbred; the Usher family is genetically incestual. It is evident that the physical features of the House of Usher symbolize Roderick and Madelines mental health. Poe did a great job depicting the severe mental illness of Roderick and Madeline through the setting, allowing the reader to better understand the characters. The short story is mysterious, there is a power to control while the characters suffer from despair, and melancholy. The twins relationship is so strong that it eventually leads to death. The House of Usher had complete power over the characters, leading them to their mental and physical illnesses. As the twins start to become lifeless and their mind and body begin to deteriorate, the Usher home is no more, as it crumbles down. The home left nothing but misery and an unsettling fear.

Federalism Is The Best Policy Essay Example For Students

Federalism Is The Best Policy Essay Like Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison, I undoubtedly believe that a strong central government is the only means of a correctly functioning democratic government. The United States government is constructed of many systems and ideas which, when bound together, create the Democratic government utilized by our country. All of the different things, in most cases compliment each other and therefore, work together. One example of this is the system of federalism. Federalism makes up some of the most important aspects of the government and its operation. Federalism is the system the United States uses as a frame for our governments power distribution when it comes to policies and procedures. It is what maintains the power between the different levels of government, whether it be the National, State, or Local governments. It also defines and separates each of these governmental levels, while protecting each of their powers as well. This would not be true of an anti-federalist government. An anti-federalist government would greatly weaken the central government, while strengthening all of the state and local governments. Thus, the country, as a whole, would become dangerously weak, and most likely not succeed. I think James Madison says it best in Federalist #10, Complaints are everywhere heard from our most considerate and virtuous citizens, equally the friends of public and private faith, and of public and personal liberty, that our governments are too unstable. There are many opinions and theories concerning the success of such a system, depending on a persons outlook on the subject. However, despite its pros and cons, it can be said that if nothing else, it at least gets more citizens involved in politics. That is an important aspect it brings, especially when dealing with a country the size of the United States and the political diversities involved at the time (federalist and anti-federalist views). Depending on the situation of each person and community, they will have their own views and beliefs of how the government should be doing things. Federalism is the system that unites these diversities and allows them to work together. James Madison in Federalist #46 states, It has been already proved that the members of the federal will be more dependent on the members of the State governments, than the latter will be on the former. Like Madison, I strongly believe that federalism gives these different political views an outlet to be heard and to be useful. In many other systems of government, political diversity is obsolete because the peoples ideas are not taken into consideration as they are with Federalism. Without political diversity, the idea of federalism is, in a way defeated. It is put there for the people and if those people do not voice an opinion, Federalism has a hard time serving its purpose of aiding the people. Clearly, it is undeniably true that a federal government system is the best policy when dealing with the United States. It is also true that federalism unites the person as one, which in return, makes a fiercely strong country. For these reasons, I strongly make a stand, along with James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay, for a Federalist system of government. Bibliography: .

Additionally, it is evident enough that she is performing her duties as a woman when she was pregnant f or her husband. Similarly, Ermo acts on the similar position as Qin Ju. This is exemplified by the fact that since her husband who was a village head got sick and could not do any meaningful work, she took the mantle and engaged herself in selling noodles so that she could take care of her family. Her family constituted the ailing husband and their only son. According to Chinese culture, it is rare to see a woman buying medicine for her husband which Ermo does. This depicts the love and care she has to her family. The same is also the case with Qin Ju who went to the bitter end trying to ensure that her husband’s case is satisfactorily handled. However it is quite odd for the women to take roles that are reserved for men for instance providing and taking care of the family (Ermo) and fighting for justice as in the case of Qin Ju. In my view, both female protagonists depict the new phase of China. Although both are women who are supposed to assume duties and responsibilities t hat opt to fit their gender, they went and extra mile in ensuring that justice is served and the family acquires material things; that is for Qin Ju and Ermo respectively. We see that Qin Ju struggled so much to ensure that justice is done for her husband who was kicked mercilessly on the groin by the village headman. She was determined to take the pain and scolding provided her husband’s case is treated to her satisfaction; this is despite the fact that she was pregnant and was about to deliver.Advertising We will write a custom term paper sample on The Story of Qin Ju and Ermo specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Ermo reflects the new China depicted by the financial independence and empowerment she has this fills the role of old China which is represented by her ailing husband who was once a chief. The bottom line when considering these two characters is that they are determined and are very hard working. Additionally the tw o protagonists come from a poor background. This I mean in terms of finances. For instance when Qin Ju was travelling to the city she had to sell on several occasion dried hot pepper so that they could raise bus fare. Similarly, Ermo who was obsessed with the desire to buy a big TV had no money and she was compelled to continue selling her noodles outside her village. I can also say that the two women exhibited high standards of morality. There is no incident that Qin Ju has been shown to engage in extra marital affairs or disrespect her husband. On the same note, although Ermo husband was impotent due to sickness, she did not give in to the sexual advances she received from the ‘Blind man’. Ideally the two female protagonists are vehicle of change (political, cultural and social) that China will experience in future. Differences between the protagonists Although there are similarities between the two main actresses of the films; there are some differences between them. One such difference is with regards to what drove their action. For Ermo, it is evident that it was jealous that drove her to acquire a television set that is huge and very expensive for her family. Viewers understand that her quest to buy a TV is purely as a result of her neighbour acquiring one. This leaves Ermo to be seen as a materialist and jealous person. This leaves her to be branded a greedy person since it is rumoured that the TV she wants to buy is so expensive that even the country leader cannot afford. On the other hand, Qin Ju fight for justice is purely guided by injustice done to her husband by the village headman. She considers this to be uncouth and against fundamental human rights and she believes that if nothing is done then the same will repeat itself in future.Advertising Looking for term paper on art and design? For instance, the desire of Ermo to go to the city and engage in activities that will earn her more money has jeopardized her relationship with her family. On the other hand, the relationship between Qin Ju and her family has indeed grown stronger. This is because her husband has realized that she cares for him so much that she sought justice for him through the right path. It is worth mentioning that while Ermo did not get the satisfaction she desired Qin Ju was at the end of the day satisfied. However, she was unable to prevent the police from taking the village head to jail for fifteen days as she believed he was the one who saved her life that fateful night when she was in labour pains. There are several differences between these female protagonists in the films, from my own analysis the character Qiu Ju from the film The Story of Qiu Ju, is tolerant and very persistent, while Ermo, from the fi lm Ermo is not tolerant but hasty and over ambitious. The tolerant nature of Qiu Ju is portrayed in the film from the moment her husband was injured by the political leader. She opts to follow her heart thus ensure that her demands are taken care of thus providing her ailing husband with the proper treatment that she would ever offer to him, this is when she swore to the politician that she will take him to court for his action. While Ermo is intolerant when she conducts her activities as a result of competition and pride, this is when she said to Blindman that she will buy a bigger TV set than his and it will be the envy of the village. Conclusion From the review of the two films; the story of Qin Ju and Ermo, it is evident that they are Chinese comedy drama films. The story line is about Chinese women who are striving to make the lives of their families’ better one by fighting for justice while the other aimed at acquiring material things, TV set. It is worth noting that th e two female protagonists have a lot in common for instance they are hard-working, determined as well as being the face of change in China. However, they do exhibit differences for instance Ermo is materialistic while Qin Ju is not, the driving force for their actions are totally different as Ermo is driven by jealousy and greed while Qin Ju is driven by the desire to fight for justice. Christianity Distinctiveness Essay

Christianity Distinctiveness Essay Christianity Distinctiveness Essay Religions are broadly defined as the quest for an experience of the Transcendent. There are similarities and differences between religions; each having differences to make that religion unique. Christianity has a few characteristics that make it distinctly different from other worldly religions. From the Bible passage John 8, 1-11, one can see some of these differences. For example, the passage gives us a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We have his son as a pathway to knowing and loving God. No other religion can offer that. Islam believes in Allah, a sole God. They cannot create that personal connection with God because he could not send anyone to be with them. Same with Judaism, they believe in a single God, not the trinity that Christianity believes in. This is one way Christianity differs from other religions. Another point one finds from the reading of John’s gospel is how kind Jesus is to the woman who committed adultery. He states that the one perso n who has not sinned can cast the stone at her. Since everyone has sinned, no one casts a stone and Jesus does not condemn her. Instead, he just encourages her to not sin. This is different from Buddhism’s concept of suffering. They think that the world has a constant suffering that people must end by using the Noble Eightfold Path. Christians are not given specific steps like the eightfold path to end suffering. Instead, they find guidance from Jesus to stop sins, and when they stop sinning, they have less suffering. Jesus did not

The period between the months of July to October is an ideal time to visit the Maasai Mara because people get to see the migration of the wilder beasts from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Mara in Kenya. In the year 2006, the American National Newspaper regarded the migration as one of the new wonders of the world, as depicted in the photograph above. During this time, the big cats and the crocodiles are seen hunting the animals stuck in the river during the migration. At night, the Mara becomes ablaze with bonfires as the Maasai warriors entertain the guests with traditional songs and roasted meat, as is their custom. The Mara is a beautiful place to visit and one leaves there with an unforgettable experience to behold and cherish forever. I cannot wait to go back to the Maasai

Women, Work and Family Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Women, Work and Family - Essay Example Violating equal employment opportunity laws in favor of males is as good as adopting unfair practices by employers. However, all these interpretations are subjective and different people have different interpretations. In the US, unfair practices in regard to women at the workplace can be determined by ascertaining whether the following laws are being complied with. Wage discrimination is prohibited by employers on the basis of sex under provisions of the Equal Pay Act of 1963, which is a part of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Section VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 disallows workplace discrimination in regard to reducing workforce, firing, hiring and sexual harassment Discrimination of pregnant women is prohibited under the Pregnancy Discrimination Act. If assumptions are made on the basis of previously established practices about the working roles of women and men, women can be said to be discriminated against if they are being denied opportunities on the basis of such assumptio ns. This becomes an unfair practice because then, women are treated unfairly on the basis of gender. An employer cannot make assumptions about the kind of work that a woman is able to do and then reject her application. This too is an unfair practice because opportunity is denied at the work place. However, given that discrimination has become quite ingenious many women continue to suffer from unfair discrimination in employment. Fairness at the workplace requires a consistent commitment in eliminating illegal discrimination and unless this objective is achieved, the American values of equal opportunity and fairness will not be met (Wilson, 2003). It is ironical that as per data provided by the Census Bureau... This paper stresses that global corporations need to adopt and implement strong initiatives to achieve gender equality through adoption of measures such as the implementation of employment practices and policies that entirely remove gender inequality in issues such as promotion, pay and recruitment. Major elements in this regard will include the payment of the legal wages to women and ensuring fair and comparable working conditions such as retirement benefits, working hours and wages. In keeping with global practices, new initiatives should include confirmable actions whereby women are given equal opportunities in terms of representation. The maximum attention needs to be given to introducing measures for prohibiting discrimination on the basis of marriage status and parental status while taking decisions about promotions and employment. This also includes actions focusing on ensuring job security, which permit interruption in the job because of maternity leave, parenting leave and f amily related responsibility. This esssay makes a conclusion that global organizations can improve the system relative to equality of women in the workplace by taking initiatives of implementing impartial policies towards women engaged in contractual work and temporary work. Layoffs need to be managed in ways that women are not impacted disproportionately. It is thus true that global employment needs global justice whereby employers cannot treat female employees in ways they would not treat male employees.

Ancient Egyptian Religious Architecture :: Ancient Egypt Egyptian History

Ancient Egyptian Religious Architecture One of the greatest cultural achievements of Ancient Egypt was undoubtedly in their architecture associated with religion. "Temples, tombs and pyramids - all have witnessed this earth for thousands of years. What better than to say that these architectural achievements show us that Egypt's greatest virtue lay in its architecture" (Fumeaux:11, 1964) When one travels to Egypt, what does he/she see - pyramid after temple after tomb, each standing the test of time. One stands out - they are all associated with religious beliefs, they all have stood unmoving for thousands of years, and they all involve mechanical genius- the moving of colossal stones without the use of the wheel. The finest example such mechanics is shown in the construction of the revered pyramid. These three factors, all belonging to the religious architecture of ancient Egypt, do nothing else but prove its greatness. Egypt's grand architectural design was a result of the religious values and beliefs that were in place at the time. Thousands of years ago, 'Ancient Egypt accepted the challenge of reeds and swamps, hot sands and floods, and build the 'first' nation' (Romer:75, 1982). There were few things to impress themselves upon the Egyptian mind; their psychological impact however was immense. There was the Nile itself, source of all life, there was the mysterious regularity of the Sun, Moon and stars; there was fertility and death. It was out of fear and mystery of these things that "...the Egyptians made their complex heirachy of Gods, and their strange religion. In the service of that religion they made their architecture" (Romer: 75,1982). Thus, the art and architecture of Ancient Egypt stemmed directly from their religion. Egyptian theology, with its deified pharaohs and strange animal-headed gods, was complicated, but the most important belief was that survival after death depended upon the preservation of the body. This belief would influence the architectural design of the tomb, where the corpse was ultimately sealed (Silverman:142, 1997). Immortality was only for privileged royal and priestly beings (Stierlin:54, 1983).This implies that their tombs would be somewhat prestigious and not just and ordinary burial site. At the day of resurrection the Ka or soul would re-enter the dead body; this meant that it must be there, intact, ready for that moment. It followed logically, that 'once the corpse was embalmed or mummified, it must be preserved in an impregnable tomb.

Like a Flower

Alejandra Luna Dr. White English 201 15 September 2011 Like a Flower Love blooms with love, like a flower blooms with water. â€Å"The Chrysanthemums† is a story written by John Steinbeck. This story takes place in 1937, a time when women were not appreciated. Women were supposed to stay home and raise their children. The main character, Elisa Allen, feels distant from her husband Henry. The fact that they didn’t have children, might play a role in that feeling, and is probably the reason she wants to be involved with the farm’s business. â€Å"Her face was lean and strong and her eyes were as clear as water† (Steinbeck 629).Elisa might seem strong on the outside, but deep inside she is fragile like a flower. Though fragile â€Å"her eyes were as clear as water† which means she has very clear what she wants and needs. Just like a flower, she needs care and attention. The point of this story, in my opinion, was to demonstrate the importance of taking care of a woman, not just economically, but emotionally and physically. If you don’t water your flowers they will die, just like love will die without care. Some men think that by providing economically, they are doing enough.A woman might have the biggest and prettiest house, the most expensive car, and the best brand clothes, but that might never be enough to make her happy. We all need someone to love us, someone to hold us at night, to awake to in the morning, someone to have breakfast with and talk to about our sorrows or joys. Money can never replace the need for a companion. Economical support is a marital responsibility, not a sign of love. Furthermore, a woman needs emotional support, she needs someone that listens to her opinion and takes it into consideration, someone who will value her thoughts and ideas.Men have no idea how important it is for a woman to be valued, to be listened to. Many people will agree that communication is a key concept in a relationship, s o knowing about her interest will give you a reason to talk about something both of you have knowledge about. It does not matter if it’s not something that interests you, as long as it interests her it will help, it will also bring you close to each other; just like Elisa felt close to the stranger, when he seemed interested in her Chrysanthemum’s.Another good way to support her emotionally is to complement her. Complement her accomplishments, or simply her beauty. Don’t say â€Å"you look so nice† (Steinbeck 635). You look so nice is not the right thing to say, use words like beautiful, radiant, dazzling, etc. Remind her why you chose to marry her and how you promised to honor and respect her for the rest of your life. Simple thing like that, can bring our self-esteem up; it will make us feel wanted and loved. Lastly care for her physically, and by physically, I’m not referring to sex.Sex is important in a relationship, but what I mean is a simple caress, or to get cozy on the couch, and also take her out on a date â€Å"I ought to take you in to dinner oftener. It would be good for both of us. We get so heavy out on the ranch† (Steinbeck 636). Henry noticed that he needed to pay more attention to his wife, he realized they are kept very busy at the ranch and don’t have time for each other. That is very common in marriages; we get carried away with our job or our children and forget how important it is to pay attention to our partner. Also help around with household chores, sometimes men don’t realize how hard we work.In my case for example; I am the first one to get up in the morning, and the last one to go to bed at night; in between that, I have three daughters, chores and school. It makes a woman very happy, when her husband gets involved and helps with the responsibilities. I truly appreciate all my husband does at home, even though he has two jobs, he comes home and helps out when I have to do home work. Taking care of a woman is as important as taking care of your flowers. If you want a beautiful garden, you water it. I you want a beautiful wife, you take care of her. he leaned over the wire fence that protected her flower garden from cattle and dogs and chickens† (Steinbeck 629). You don’t have to put up a wire fence to keep the dogs away from your flower, all you have to do is take care of her economically, to give her comfort; emotionally, to give her peace and physically to keep her young and beautiful. That is the best way to keep the dogs away, and keep her interested in no one but you. Works Cited Steinbeck, John. â€Å"The Chrysanthemums† Compact Literature: Reading, reacting, writing. Laurie G. Bullying â€Å"Words will never hurt me† used to be just an expression, but now bullying has gotten so bad that words really do hurt, this is known as â€Å"bullicide†. Many children, teens, and even some adults are victims of physical, verbal, or cyber bullying. Bullying affects victims negatively and can sometimes lead to suicide. Children, parents, and teachers need to work to prevent and end bullying. Bullying is a serious issue that has numerous causes and effects that can sometimes be life changing. Other bullies just want to fit in and be cool. Growing up it is important to children and teens that they fit in; while trying to do so some children bring their peers down so they can build themselves up. They dominate others to show their power and superiority (â€Å"Bullying Statistics†). Another reason that people bully is because of domestic violence. There is often violence in the homes of bullies. Children are very affected by their parents’ actions. Some children watch their parents physically or verbally fight every night. Parents bully each other by kicking, punching, biting, pushing, or sexually abusing each other such as raping or sexually harassing. Parents might also verbally abuse each other by making threats to intimidate one another (â€Å"Bullying Statistics†). Violence at home is not only between parents, some bullies are the victims at home, and they are picked on by older siblings or sometimes even by their parents.
